Investigation of the association of virulence genes and biofilm production with infection and bacterial colonization processes in multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter spp.

Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the phenotypic and molecular patterns biofilm formation in infection colonization isolates Acinetobacter spp. from patients who were admitted a public hospital Recife-PE-Brazil 2018-2019. For analysis, evaluated by crystal violet staining method; search virulence genes (bap, ompA, epsA, csuE bfmS) performed PCR; ERIC-PCR for typing. Amongst 38 isolates, 20 isolated infections 18 colonization. resistance profile pointed that 86.85% (33/38) multidrug-resistant, being three two resistant polymyxin B. All able produce they had at least one investigated on their profile, but bap gene found 100% them. No clones detected ERIC-PCR. There no correlation between bacteria, neither genes.
